Self Care Tips
💕 Self Care tip 1 – Meditation 🧘🏼♀💕
Just 10 minutes a day of meditation will help slow down the internal chatter and calm an anxious mind.
A lot of us struggle with meditation when we first start but there are many different ways to meditate, and I feel that it is simply finding what is right for you.
Find yourself somewhere you will not be interrupted, close your eyes and take some slow deep breaths.
Set an alarm so that you do not feel that you need to keep checking the time.
To begin with you could try a 10 minute guided meditation. There are plenty available to choose from on YouTube.
Or you could try a meditation where you focus on the breath -breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Breathe in for the count of 4, hold for the count of 7, and exhale to the count of 8.
🌞🌞Self Care Tip 2 - Movement 🌞🌞
Get out of your head & into your body. 🌞
If you can get outside in nature, go for a walk or enjoy your garden - It will lift your spirits. 🌞
If you can’t get out how about some yoga, or a living-room workout.
Or simply put some music on dance around the kitchen.
🌿Self Care Tip 3 - Gratitude. 🌿
When it rains look for rainbows 🌈. When it is s dark look for stars 🌟.
🌿In difficult times it is important to remind ourselves of all we have to be grateful for - our family, friends, community; blue skies; a hug; a video call with our loved ones.
When you first wake up, think of 3 things that you are grateful for, and you will find it gives you a great start to the day.
🌼🌼Self Care Tip 4 – Journaling.🌼🌼
Get your thoughts out – writing them down can help relieve anxiety. I. t can help to get your thoughts in order and give you new perspective. It is also a time in the day to focus on yourself and how you a feeling. 🌼🌼 If journaling appeals to you set aside 10 minutes each day with your notebook. At first you may not do it every day but if you keep coming back to it, it will eventually become part of your daily practise. 🌼🌼
🌸🌸Self Care Tip 5 - Get Creative 🌸🌸 Spend some time in creativity - drawing, painting or mindful colouring . 🌸🌸
It will give you the chance to switch off for a little while and just be in the moment. 🌸🌸
🧡🧡Self Care Tip 6 - Catch up with friends. 🧡🧡Coffee & a catch up; wine & a natter. 🧡🧡 Get a group of friends together (observing social distance rules, of course), or make a regular weekly date to video-chat with your bestie. 🧡🧡
🌷🌷Self Care Tip 7 - Learn something new. 🌷🌷With so many free or reduced courses available at the moment it is a great time to learn something new. 🌷🌷Maybe there is something you have always wanted to learn but not found the time, perhaps a language, or a new skill like knitting.🌷🌷
💦💦Self Care Tip 8 - Soak in the bath. 💦💦 Add a cup of Epsom salts and a few drops of essential oils - lavender or rose are my favourites. 💦💦When you are in a household with young children this is the ultimate luxury. 💦💦Put on a hair mask, maybe a face mask, light a few candles, and relax. Don’t forget to lock the door! 💦💦
