What is Reflexology?
Reflexology can be dated back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, but was not introduced to the West until the early 1900’s.
The theory of Reflexology is that all the systems and organs of the whole body are mapped to smaller peripheral areas, for example the feet, hands and face. It is the technique of applying gentle pressure to these reflex areas to encourage the body towards a state of relaxation, equilibrium and self-healing.
It is a non-intrusive complementary therapy that can reduce stress by creating deep relaxation, a sense of balance and well-being, creating a stronger body and calmer mind.
The benefits of Reflexology:
Promotes general relaxation.
Relieve the effects of stress.
Release of tension.
Increased feeling of well-being.
Anyone can benefit from reflexology whether you simply wish time for yourself to relax or have more specific problems such as insomnia, migraines, IBS or stress and anxiety.
The more often you experience Reflexology the more benefit you will receive, so with this in mind I offer a discounted block bookings.
I trained at the London School of Reflexology under Louise Keet, Britain’s leading Reflexology Practitioner, and then took further courses in Preconception, Pregnancy and Post Natal Care Reflexology, Spinal Reflexology (based on stimulating the spinal nerve root reflexes on the feet), and Reflexology Protocols (now called ‘Power Reflexology’, a refined technique to allow for a more consolidated treatment).
More recently I have studied Mindful Reflexology which focused on supporting clients living with Stress, Anxiety and Depression.
I a member of the Association of Reflexologists, offering local mobile visits or treatments at my home in Kingston upon Thames.
